Registration for Weekly Padres Comprometidos (Committed Parent) Summer Session will begin on Tuesday, June 14th, 2022 from 9:30 am – 11:30 am.
El Centro, Cleveland Clinic Outpatient Clinic is now open to the public (via appointment only) on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 am to 4:00. Some of the services that will be provided are adult annual wellness exams, women’s health, Medicare wellness exam, chronic disease management, acute care, etc. Please call 440-282- 9828 or 440-204-7400 to make an appointment.
Due to COVID-19 cases, El Centro’s front door will remain locked until further notice. We thank all of you for the support and understanding during this time that we are forced to offer the services in untraditional ways.
For the month of May, we will continue providing services virtually, by phone and by appointment only.
If services are needed and you need to come to the office, we encourage you to call the office first (440-277-8235) to receive the new procedure for office visits.
El Centro’s COVID Care Team is now able to book first, second and booster COVID-19 vaccination appointments in partnership with Lorain County Public Health. To register, please call 440-240-7064 to speak to a member of the COVID Care Team. This service is available in both English and Spanish.
Bilingual Financial Education and First-Time Homebuyer Classes - These classes will help to improve financial literacy to the residents of Lorain County. El Centro will offer future homebuyers two courses (four hours per class) focused on: Financial Recovery (Credit Repair) and Money Matters (Budgeting & Saving) to prepare participants on the homebuying process. The Fast-Track programs focus on in-demand fields such as business, computer and information technology, healthcare and manufacturing – well-paying industries with projected job growth in the coming years. You can quickly retrain for a new career, earn a short-term certificate and make important connections with employers looking to hire – all in as soon as 16 short weeks and tuition free.

Registration is now open for El Centro’s annual Youth Summer Camp beginning June 6th through July 29, 2022 from 9 am – 4 pm, Monday - Friday. This camp will take place at The Hungarian Reformed Church, 1691 E. 31st Street, Lorain, OH 44055. The camp is FREE based on income requirements to participants and scholarships are also available for those who qualify. *This camp is in part funded using TANF federal funds through an agreement with Lorain County Commissioners and Lorain County Department of Jobs and Family Services.

No matter where individuals are on their educational journey, there are programs designed to meet them where they are. April 14, 2022: El Centro “Drive Thru” Mobile Food Pantry in collaboration with Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio will be at Oakwood Park from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm or until the food runs out. Income eligible households (below 200% of the poverty level) are given one box of food and multiple bags of fresh vegetables on a first-come, first-served basis – FREE. Photo ID and proof of residency required. Volunteers will place the items in your trunk (be sure to have your trunk empty).
Transitions is a free networking group in support of individuals in search of a new job or career change. Transitions provides free short seminars, networking contacts, job leads and support. Sessions are professionally led and focus on the job search process, provide the latest career development tools and resources, and help you sharpen networking skills and search strategies. The program is free of charge and is open to students, alumni and community members.
